Hosted October 25 at the Marzen House Museum, the event was a collaboration between the Pershing Healthcare Foundation, the Mustang Youth Team, and the Marzen House Museum Board.
The festival featured trivia contests, pumpkin carving, food by PikNix, and plenty of family fun, including face painting, fire truck rides from the Lovelock Volunteer Fire Department, and a spooky round of ghost tours through the historic museum grounds.
Organizer Bonnie Skoglie said the turnout was strong for the first-time event, even with brisk fall weather. “It was well attended for our first attempt,” she said. “If the weather had cooperated, it would have been even better.”
In a gesture of community partnership, the Marzen House Museum Board voted to donate its share of the proceeds to the Pershing Healthcare Foundation, which then chose to pass that donation along to the Mustang Youth Team.
With its blend of history, hometown flavor, and a little Halloween fun, the Fall Fest proved that when Lovelock comes together, everyone wins.
