Representatives of several local emergency agencies participated in Fernley’s National Night Out
on August 5 at the Out of Town Park.
The event was packed with several activities, including tours of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office
SWAT vehicle, a fire truck from North Lyon Fire and a helicopter from Battle Born Medevac and
a Battle of the Badges blood drive. Several vendors offered informational booths and attendees
were treated to K9 demonstrations, a dance performance by dancers from Fernley Performing
Arts and got the chance to meet sheriff’s deputies and firefighters.
National Night Out is an annual event held across the United States that aims to promote police
and community partnership.
