Nevada Police Foundation Partnered with Reno Aces for Fundraiser

The Nevada Police Foundation partnered with the Reno Aces this week for a fundraising campaign supporting Nevada law enforcement officers and the continued maintenance of the state's Peace Officer Memorial. Half of each ticket purchased through the Foundation's website for the July 23 Reno Aces vs. Tacoma Raiders game benefitted the nonprofit organization.

The Nevada Police Foundation maintains the Nevada Peace Officer Memorial on the grounds of the Nevada Legislative Campus in Carson City. The memorial honors the 158 Nevada law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Unlike many public memorials, it receives no funding from a government agency and is maintained entirely through private donations and community support.

In addition to preserving the memorial, the Foundation serves as the official nonprofit organization for the Nevada Sheriffs' and Chiefs' Association. The association represents all 17 of Nevada's sheriff 's offices and police departments, with the Foundation providing support for initiatives that benefit law enforcement agencies and the officers who serve communities throughout the state.

The Reno Aces partnership gave baseball fans an opportunity to support those efforts while enjoying an evening at the ballpark. Funds raised through ticket sales will help the Foundation continue maintaining the memorial and carrying out its mission of supporting Nevada law enforcement.
