The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) was recently recognized with two significant honors from the Nevada Donor Network and three additional awards at the 2025 Annual Joining Forces Conference in Las Vegas.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, MCSO earned two prestigious awards at the Nevada Donor Network Awards Banquet held in Reno, one for Most Donors Registered During a Campaign and another for 2025 Sheriff’s Coroner Partner of the Year.
In their announcement, the Sheriff’s Office extended appreciation to the Nevada Donor Network “for this recognition and for their continued partnership in promoting organ and tissue donation throughout our state.”
“We would also like to thank the Mineral County community for your tremendous support and participation in this important cause,” the release stated. “In addition, we wish to recognize and thank our dedicated staff for their outstanding efforts and commitment to making this campaign a success. Your teamwork and compassion truly made these accomplishments possible and continue to bring hope and healing to those in need.”
In a separate event held late last month, Sheriff Bill Ferguson, Deputy Wesley Burke, and Executive Secretary Jamie Burke attended the 2025 Annual Joining Forces Conference in Las Vegas, where they also received multiple awards for excellence. “A huge congratulations to everyone involved!” the release stated. “Your hard work and dedication make a difference.”
According to MCSO, nearly 15-20 officers statewide were nominated, with only three receiving awards, including Deputy Wesley Burke. Two other Northern Nevada agencies were also recognized: the University Police Department, Northern Command (UNR), and the Washoe County School District Police Department, which each received Outstanding Agency Recognition.
