Feb. 17, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced that the Feb. 21 wild horse and burro event will be cancelled.
"Due to the recent storms, we felt that for both the animals and the public, it was appropriate to cancel the adoption,” said Ruth Thompson, BLM Nevada, Wild Horse and Burro Specialist. “NNCC takes great pride in the level of training of their horses to ensure successful long-term homes, and we are also concerned that road travel within the next week could continue to be an issue.”
Horses from this cancelled adoption event will now be up for adoption from March 9-16 at the Online Corral. Horses can be picked up at the Palomino Valley Wild Horse Center in Reno.
Pickup times and information on animals are available at Wild Horse and Burro Online Corral - Home.
