Lovelock Frontier Days returns to Courthouse Park July 31 through Aug. 2, inviting visitors from across the region to enjoy a weekend of family fun, friendly competition, and small-town tradition.
This year's theme, "Country Roads," celebrates the rural character of Lovelock and the many visitors, vendors and participants who travel the country's back roads to take part in the annual event. Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including kids bike races and crafts, a quarter dive, horseshoe tournaments, the weight carry competition, and many more.
The celebration will kick off on Friday with live DJs, a free concert in the park and racing at Lovelock Speedway. Saturday features the D.A.R.E. French Toast Breakfast, the annual Frontier Days parade, a blood drive, “Lovelock Has Talent”, performances by the Nevada Gunfighters, another free concert, and evening races at the speedway. Sunday's schedule includes the Unity of Churches in the Park service, the tractor pull, weight carry competition, kids bike races, scholarship presentations, and raffles and awards to close out the weekend.
Visitors can also browse a variety of vendors throughout the weekend, offering everything from barbecue, frozen treats and breakfast favorites to custom gifts and community information.
The Frontier Days committee extends its thanks to the many businesses and organizations that make the celebration possible, including platinum sponsors Coeur Rochester and the Pershing County Recreation Board, along with Burning Man, Q & D Construction, Waters Vacuum Truck Services, Depot Casino, Pampered Pooch, IBEW Local 401, Dan Crofoot, Echeverria Pumping LLC, Lovelock Industrial LLC, US Silica and many other local supporters.
